How to Grow Your Blog to 100,000 Visits a Month Within 1.5 Years

How to Grow Your Blog to 100,000 Visits a Month Within 1.5 Years

I’ve done marketing for 20 of the top 100 blogs on the web, and I’ve created 3 blogs for my own businesses that achieved at least 100,000 visits a month.
With Quick Sprout, it took me 4 years and 9 months to hit 100,000 monthly visits:
quicksprout blog traffic
With KISSmetrics, it took me 1 year and 10 months to hit over 100,000 monthly visits:
kissmetrics blog traffic
And with Crazy Egg, it took me 1 year and 6 months to hit 100,000 monthly visits:
crazyegg blog traffic
As you can see from the graphs above, the amount of time it took me to hit the 100,000 mark decreased. I went from being able to achieve the goal in 4 years and 9 months to 1 year and 6 months.
Luck has nothing to do with this achievement. I actually have a formula, which works every time. And if I leveraged it again today, I bet I could achieve similar results in less than 12 months.
Here’s the formula I use to get blogs to 100,000 visits a month:

Quantity is king

With Quick Sprout, I noticed slight gains when posting 2 pieces of content a week instead of 1. KISSmetrics only started to see big traffic increases when I started to publish 5 pieces of content a week. But with KISSmetrics, we went from publishing 2 a week straight to 5 a week.
This is why KISSmetrics had a much faster growth rate than Quick Sprout. In addition to that, we recently started testing posting 6 pieces of content a week instead of 5.
When we posted 5 a week, we had 422,885 visits a month.
kissmetrics september blog traffic
When we tested posting 6 articles a week, our traffic went up to 501,573 visits.
kissmetrics october blog traffic
By posting an additional blog post each week, we were able to increase our blog traffic by 18.6%. My experience of working with 20 of the top 100 blogs showed that if we published 3 pieces of content each day (21 pieces a week), we could easily get our traffic to over a million visits a month over time.
When posting in high frequency, make sure you are still maintaining the quality of your content. Writing a lot of blog posts that are low in quality won’t help you see a big increase in traffic.

Infographics

The simplest way to increase your traffic is through infographics. This has worked well for blogs like Mashable, and it’s what caused a huge spike in traffic at KISSmetrics.
Just look at this screenshot of our traffic in August 2010:
kissmetrics august blog traffic
And now look at our September 2010 traffic:
kissmetrics september blog traffic
We went from 56,380 to 146,197 visits because of infographics. This strategy was so effective that we started to create an infographic each week to boost our overall traffic. Still, today, even if we don’t publish an infographic, old ones generate at least 50,000 visits for us each month.
If you want to copy this strategy, just follow the steps in this blog post. It will teach you everything you need to know about creating a popular infographic.

Write headlines for both people and search engines

The one thing that all three of my blogs have in common is that they all get a lot of search engine traffic. “Why?” you may ask. It’s because we write blog headlines that appeal to both people and search engines.
crazyegg search blog traffic
Just look at the Crazy Egg blog. Last month, we had 127,373 visits from search engines. All because we write headlines for both Google and people.
In the short run, you won’t notice much traffic from this strategy, but within 6 months, you’ll notice a nice increase in your search engine traffic. From that point, you’ll continue to see increases quarter over quarter.

Cover trending topics

Our biggest traffic days tended to be those when we covered major events within our niche.
For example, with Quick Sprout, when I covered Google updates like Panda and Penguin, I saw a surge of traffic. The same thing happened when Hummingbird was covered on KISSmetrics.
We also saw similar traffic trends when we blogged about Apple’s marketing around its events.
The beautiful part about these surges is that when they are over, your traffic is still a bit higher than it was before the spike.
If you are interested in covering trending topics, you can use Google Trends to see what is hot. Make sure you don’t write on just any topic. The content needs to be relevant to your niche. With a quick search on Google Trends, you should be able to get a good idea on what is increasing and what’s decreasing in search volume.

Write in a conversational tone

Have you noticed that I get over 176 comments per blog post on Quick Sprout? It’s because I write in a conversational tone.
Sure, you can use tricks like “top commenters” to try to boost your numbers, but by making your blog posts sound like a conversation, instead of an essay, you’ll invite more comments from people naturally.
You can create the same effect on your blog by:
  • Using the words “you” and “I” within your content.
  • Asking questions throughout your blog post.
  • Making sure anyone can understand your content…In other words, write for a 5th grader.
  • Keeping your paragraphs short and to the point.
Comments are a great way to increase your readers’ loyalty. If people continually comment on your blog, it means they are reading your content, and they are more likely to share it via the social web.
Having multiple authors on your blog, instead of just one, decreases comments and engagement as your readers don’t have a chance to build a connection with you. Just look at the Crazy Egg and KISSmetrics blogs. We have multiple writers, and most of them don’t write in a conversational tone. As a result, those two blogs get far fewer comments than Quick Sprout’s blog does.
If you take my friend’s blog (he ripped my design…you can too if you want), you’ll see that he only gets 2,000 visits a month, and yet some of his posts have 13 comments. That’s because he writes in a conversational tone.
And if you are thinking about using Facebook comments to increase your engagement and social traffic, don’t. Every single popular blog I’ve worked with always receives more Google traffic than Facebook traffic. With Facebook comments, the comment text doesn’t get indexed by Google, which means you will get less search traffic.

Collect emails through offers and opt-ins

All the blogs I’ve created have a common trend… email is one of the biggest sources of traffic.
For the month of November, emails made up 18% of the traffic to Quick Sprout, 6% to KISSmetrics and 4% to Crazy Egg.
Those percentages may not seem high, but there are two good reasons for that:
  1. All three blogs get a lot of traffic, so small percentages still add up when it comes to visitor count.
  2. Except for Quick Sprout, the blogs do a terrible job of collecting emails. If KISSmetrics and Crazy Egg were optimized like Quick Sprout, the numbers would have drastically gone up.
If you want to collect more emails from your blog, follow step 2 in this blog post. It will teach you everything you need to know. Plus, you can just download the WP Lead Magnet plugin. Those are the tactics I use on Quick Sprout, and they work wonders.
Once you have an email list, you should blast it with your new blog post every time you publish it. Why? Because it will drive traffic, create more comments and, best of all, generate social shares. Email subscribers are3.9 times more likely to share your content than your other blog visitors.

Content marketing doesn’t have to be a hit-or-miss game

The most important element of a blog post is its headline. No matter how good your content is, if your headline sucks, very few people will read the post.
In most cases, content marketing is a hit or a miss: your content will be widely read or just ignored. But it doesn’t have to be this way.
You can use tools like Social Crawlytics to see what sort of content has done well on competing blogs. For example, if you had a marketing blog and you wanted to see what was hot on Quick Sprout, you would just type in www.quicksprout.com and see a table that looks something like this:
social crawlytics
You can then sort the data by social site or by total count. In essence, it will show you all of the popular blog posts and their headlines. If you look at the top 5 posts, the advanced guide to seo, content marketing and growth hacking are 3 of them. That shows that if you create advanced guides and use similar to mine headlines for marketing-related topics, you too can get a lot of traffic.
In addition to finding topics and headlines that work, you can useformulas in this blog post to come up with attractive headlines. That post will teach you how to use opinions, create a sense of urgency or evoke curiosity within your headlines.

Build up your social media profiles

Another commonality among all three of the blogs I created is that they all get a lot of traffic from social media sites. In the last 30 days:
  • KISSmetrics received 36,862 visits from social sites.
  • Crazy Egg received 5,976 visits form social sites.
  • Quick Sprout received 25,350 visits from social sites.
How are we able to achieve these results? It’s because we build up our social profiles. You can do it too if you follow this strategy:
When building up your social profiles, you have to be patient. It typically takes 6 months to see consistent social media traffic to your blog.
In addition to focusing on major social media sites, consider leveraging smaller ones in your niche. For example Inbound and Growth Hackersare two social sites that focus on the marketing niche. In an average month, Inbound drives around 1,700, and Growth Hackers around 400, visits to my site. It may not seem like a lot, but it all adds up.

Partner up

Within a few months of launching the Crazy Egg blog, I was able to grow it to over 30,000 visits a month. Do you know how?
No, it wasn’t through SEO or even social media. It was through partnerships. The first partnership I went after was the Smashing Magazine Network. Because we were included in their RSS feed, we were able to get from them 22,181 visits a month.
smashing magazine network
The cost for this was $0. All we had to do was place a badge on our blog that stated we were in the Smashing Magazine network.
It’s not the only network on the web… before that, I was part of the 9rules network. There are a lot of blog networks out there. You just have to find the ones your space.
But don’t stop with blog networks. You can also share your content with other blogs in exchange for them driving traffic back to your blog. Business Insider has taken posts from Quick Sprout such as this one. I asked Business Insider to link back to my blog within the post, which they gladly did.
Popular blogs like Business Insider are looking for more content. If you provide it to them, they won’t have an issue linking back to your site and driving thousands of visits to you.
To get these partnerships, you have to continually reach out to popular blogs in your space. Most won’t accept your content or let you join their network, but for every 10 blogs you hit up, at least 1 will say, “yes.”

Conclusion

It may have taken me years to get Quick Sprout to 100,000 visits a month, but it shouldn’t take you that long. When I started Quick Sprout, social sites like Facebook and Twitter weren’t as popular as they are now.
You have more sites and partnerships you can leverage today than you ever had, and people are craving more good blog content than they ever did before.
Why not give it a shot? Follow the steps above, and you should hit 100,000 visits a month in no time.
So, what other tactics can you use to get to 100,000 visits a month?

30 Tips For Creating Content that Gets Read, Shared and Talked About at Parties

30 Tips For Creating Content that Gets Read, Shared and Talked About at Parties

time to share
We’ve all been there…
You create the perfect piece of content; you hit the Publish button; and you just sit back and wait for the traffic to start rolling in, right? The only issue is the traffic never “rolls in”.
As you already know, getting people to read, share and talk about your content is the hardest part about content marketing. This is one of the main reasons most blogs fail.
In essence, it’s the “marketing” part of content marketing that you struggle with. But it doesn’t have to be that way.
Here are 30 ways you can get your content read, shared and talked about at parties:

How to get your content read

Just imagine yourself browsing through a magazine. How do you decide whether to read an article or not?
Is it the pictures, the headline, the length of the article or the writer? It’s the headline that pulls you in. No matter how good your content is, if your headline sucks, no one will read it.
Here are 10 ways you can ensure your headline is magnetic:
  1. Where’s the benefit? – people enjoy reading articles that teach them something. Use your headline to tell your readers what they are going to learn in your article.
  2. There’s no need to reinvent the wheel – people enjoy headlines that are “How To” and “List” oriented. So, use them…even if they seem played out.
  3. Stats are better than opinion – if you have data that backs up your main point, use it within your headline.
  4. Put people over search engines – adding keywords to your headline to make it more search engine friendly isn’t a good idea if it makes your headline boring and dull. Write them for people over search engines.
  5. Create a sense of urgency – by telling your readers that they only have a short window to act on your information, you are more likely to get them to read it.
  6. Leverage laziness – people don’t like working, so leverage that within your headline. For example, your headline could start off with… “the lazy man’s way to…”.
  7. Appeal to emotions – we are all humans, and sparking an emotional feeling within your headline is a great way to draw a reader’s attention.
  8. Capitalize on mistakes – people make mistakes, so creating a headline that shows what people can learn from your, or other people’s, mistakes can easily draw a big audience. My most popular post on Quick Sprout is still about a handful of business mistakes that lost me money.
  9. Evoke curiosity – people are naturally curious, so making your headline a question will encourage them to click through and read your content.
  10. The double whammy – by combing a few of the elements above and using them in one headline, you can create the double whammy effect. For example, your headline might read “How to Increase Your SEO Traffic with These 3 Simple Steps”.
Hopefully these tips will help you create a headline that encourages people to read your content. If you still find yourself struggling to come up with a good headline, you can check out this headline formula template or you can use this tool.
Now that you know how to get your content read, let’s focus on getting it shared.

How to get your content shared

Whether you love or hate social sites like Twitter and Facebook, you have no choice but to use them. They are some of the most popular destinations on the web, and if you aren’t leveraging them, you are missing out on thousands of visitors a month.
Here are 10 ways you can get your content shared on the social web:
  1. Don’t place too many social icons on your site – the simplest way to get your content shared is to include social buttons within your content. You can easily do this through plugins like Sharebar, but if you give your readers too many options, they won’t click on any of the social buttons. Limit the number of social buttons to 3, if not 2.
  2. Not all social networks are equal – don’t just ask your readers to promote your content on all social sites. Only pick the ones you know your readers are on. In most cases, it is going to be Twitter and Facebook.
  3. Build up your social media accounts – blogs that get a lot of social media traffic usually also own powerful social media accounts. Invest time into building up your Twitter account and consider running Facebook ads to grow your fan page.
  4. Leverage content blockers – have you ever thought about putting a gate in front of your content that forces people to share it before they can read it? You can see this strategy in play here, and you can do the same thing on your site through WP Lead Magnet.
  5. Ask for a retweet – by including “please RT” within your tweet, you are four times more likely to get a retweet. This sounds simple, but it works.
  6. Build your network – through services like Tiberr, you can get hundreds of people to share your content on the social web.
  7. Ask your readers for help – at the end of your blog post tell your readers to share your content on a social network of your choice, but don’t do this too often as it will lose its effect. I generate 38% more social shares on average when I use this tactic at the end of a blog post.
  8. Run contests – through simple software solutions like Contest Domination, you can run contests and quickly increase the number of Facebook fans you have without spending a dollar on paid advertising.
  9. Don’t forget to participate – you can’t just reap the rewards without providing anything in return. To do well on the social web, you need to participate first and then promote your own sites. For example, you should be tweeting on a regular basis or publishing status updates on Facebook that aren’t related to your product or service.
  10. Collect emails – every time someone hits your blog, offer them a free ebook in exchange for an email address. Then, when you post new content, you can always email it out to your list. This is so effective that in the month of October, emails made up 21% of the traffic on Quick Sprout. Plus, email subscribers are 3.9 times more likely to share the content via the social web.
Now that you know how to get your content shared, let’s discuss how you can make it go viral.

How to get your content talked about at parties

If people are talking about your content at parties, you’ve mastered virality. It’s not an easy thing to do, but it is possible.
Do you know what makes most things go viral? It’s not the marketing strategy… it’s actually the content. By creating content that is exceptionally good, you will increase your chances of people talking about it.
Here are 10 ways you can create exceptionally good content:
  1. Quality over quantity – I’ve found that writing content that is long and thorough, such as 40,000 word guides, produces more traffic than writing short blog posts. My advanced guides on Quick Sprout can easily generate 300,000 plus visitors.
  2. Infographics tend to go viral – if you can make complex data easy to understand through visual images, your content will be talked about. When did this at KISSmetrics, we were able togenerate over 2.5 million visitors.
  3. Story telling is powerful – just think about the last time you were at a party. Chances are someone told you a story. If you can make your blog posts into small stories, people are more likely to talk about them.
  4. Don’t put people to sleep – do you remember the days you had to write essays in school? Well, we all do because it’s not fun writing them… but I bet you don’t remember the actual essays you wrote. It’s because essays are boring, and they put people to sleep. Make sure your blog posts are written as if you were having a conversation. Use the words “you” and “I” within your posts as it will create the illusion of a conversation.
  5. Be controversial – controversial topics spread like a wild fire. I had a buddy who had a blog that talked about why men are better than women. He did it as a joke. He didn’t really think that men were better, but the topic was so controversial that he got featured on Dr. Phil. The TV show drove so much traffic to his site that his servers went down.
  6. Be unique – although this may sound simple, it’s actually one of the hardest things to do. Creating unique content on topics that have never been covered before is hard. But if you can create a unique masterpiece, you’ll increase your chances of it going viral.
  7. Ride the trends – one of the simplest ways to get thousands of visitors to your site is to write on trending topics. You can find these topics by monitoring Google Trends. If you happen to write about something within the first 30 minutes of it trending, you are likely to get a lot of traffic to your site.
  8. Laughter is powerful – have you noticed that most of the popular videos on YouTube are the humorous ones? They are just downright entertaining, which is why people will share them. But you don’t have to create funny videos that are irrelevant to your blog for them to go viral; instead, you can use a similar concept toThe Oatmeal. They create comics and animations that are funny and entertaining around topics that will interest their readers.
  9. Leverage high-arousal emotions – content that is positive tends to do better than negative content. And content that leverages emotions like anger, anxiety, fear, joy and lust tend to go more viral than content that doesn’t evoke those “high-arousal” emotions.
  10. Timing is everything – hitting the Publish button at a bad time or on a bad day can mean that no one will read your content. By following this chart, you can publish content during optimal days and times to increase your odds of getting more traffic.
It won’t be easy to have your content talked about at parties, but it is possible. With some hard work and continual tweaking, you should be able to maximize your web traffic.

Conclusion

Even if you follow all of the tactics above, chances are you won’t get thousands of visitors rushing to your site all at once. But over a course of three months, you should see a drastic increase in traffic.
Content marketing isn’t a short-term investment. It really starts paying offer after six months to a year. You just have to be willing to put the time and energy into it.
So, in what other ways can you get your content read, shared and talked about at parties?

Low Hanging Fruit of Content Marketing: 10 Quick Changes That Will Bring Big Results

Low Hanging Fruit of Content Marketing: 10 Quick Changes That Will Bring Big Results

content marketing
Do you know what the key to a successful content marketing campaignis? Well, it’s not what you are thinking. Sure, detailed content that is high in quality helps, but it won’t guarantee your success.
So, what’s the key?
It’s a lot of little things. They aren’t necessarily hard to implement. You just have to be willing to take the time to implement these simple tactics.
Here are 10 quick changes you need to make to ensure you do well with your content marketing:

Tactic #1: Cross-promote your Twitter profiles

Twitter will play a huge role in your content marketing efforts. Just look at how much traffic Twitter drove to Quick Sprout in the last 30 days:
twitter traffic
By no means will Twitter make up the majority of your traffic, but what it will do is help influencers find your content. These influencers willretweet your content and, more importantly, share it with their readers on their blogs.
So, how do you maximize your Twitter traffic? One simple strategy is to cross-promote your Twitter profile with other people within your organization. Chances are you have a personal Twitter profile and a corporate one. At least a few of your employees have Twitter profiles too.
The way you would cross-promote is through your bio:
twitter bio
As you can see, I link to both my Crazy Egg and KISSmetrics Twitter profiles through my bio by using the @ symbol. I even link to my co-founder’s Twitter profile.
twitter bio hiten
My co-founder does the same thing, and a few of our employees do this as well.
By having everyone on your team promote your Twitter profile, you will quickly gain more followers. That way, when you tweet out your latest blog post, you’ll get more traffic.

Tactic #2: Use the following keywords in your headlines

Most people think the most important part of content marketing is the quality of the content. And although it is true to some extent, if your headline sucks, no one will read your content.
A headline could mean the difference between a few hundred and a few thousand visitors.
If you aren’t sure how to create an appealing headline, just consider using some of the words below as they tend to get clicked a lot.
  1. How to
  2. [List-related numbers]
  3. Free
  4. You
  5. Tips
  6. Blog post
  7. Why
  8. Best
  9. Tricks
  10. Great
The keywords above work well, and if you also use them within your title tag, you should see an increase in click-through rates from your organic listings.
If you need even more help, you can always use these headline formulas from Copyblogger. All you have to do is plug in a keyword or two, and you will be good to go.

Tactic #3: Collect emails using Facebook Connect

RSS feeds used to be huge drivers of traffic to blogs, but once people stopped using them, most bloggers switched back to collecting email addresses. Why? Because you’ll never stop checking your email.
So, if you are looking to build your list at a faster pace, use Facebook Connect. It allows users who are logged into Facebook to subscribe to your blog with a click of a button. They won’t have to enter in their names or even email addresses.
facebook connect
You can create one of these opt-in forms through Aweber with just a click of a button.
The last A/B test I ran showed that using Facebook Connect for email opt-ins increased conversions by 24.1%.
That means by using Facebook Connect, you will roughly have 24% more people to email to every time you publish a new blog post.

Tactic #4: Ask a question at the end of your blog posts

Are you tired of writing blog posts that get no comments? I know I was, which is why I started testing different tactics to get more engagement from my readers.
Can you guess what the most successful tactic I’ve found to increase the number of comments is? It may sound obvious, but asking questions at the end of your blog posts will help.
If someone took the time to read your whole post, it means they are engaged. So, when they read a question at the end of your post, chances are they are going to answer it by leaving a comment.
Here are the results I experienced with Quick Sprout:
  • I receive 18% more comments on average when I ask a question at the end of a blog post.
  • When I end a blog post with a technical question such as “how would you prevent getting penalized by the Panda update?”, I tend to generate 11% fewer comments than when I use a more generic question like “how else can you get more traffic?”
You’ll have to test this out on your blog, but you should try asking generic questions at the end of your blog posts.

Tactic #5: Make your content skimmable

Have you ever noticed that all of my posts on Quick Sprout contain subheadings? I usually use a few within the body, and I use a heading Conclusion at the end of every post.
In this post, the subheadings are: Tactic #1, Tactic #2, etc. Using subheadings makes the content skimmable, which makes it easier for you to learn the important points from each post.
I never used to do this, but I found that it helps increase the time spent on-site for each blog post. My average time on-site for a blog post before I started doing this was 2 minutes and 41 seconds. Now my average time on-site for a blog post is 3 minutes and 26 seconds.
Through testing, I also found that using subheadings impacted average time on-site more than content length did. When I increased my blog post length from 1,000 words to over 1,500 or even 2,000 words, my average time on-site didn’t really go up. But having subheadings created more engagement. You are staying on the site longer, which means there is a greater chance that you are actually reading my blog posts.
If you want to increase the number of visitors who are actually reading your content, consider using subheadings.

Tactic #6: Draw your blog images

I was chatting with my designers at Digital Telepathy the other day, and they told me that blog posts that contained custom-drawn images got significantly more traffic. James from Super Fast Business is experiencing the same thing, which is why all of his blog posts contain custom-drawn images.
custom image
If you’re not a skilled designer like me, you can head over to Fiverr and pay $5 for a custom image.
Some people are claiming that they are able to generate double, if not triple, the amount of traffic by using custom-drawn images. I haven’t seen big lifts, but I have seen anywhere from 14% to 26% increase in traffic when I used custom images.
For those of you who use stock photography images like me: I haven’t seen an increase in traffic when using them.

Tactic #7: Share your content more than once

Tomasz Tunguz did an experiment on his blog to see if tweeting the same piece of content more than once would drive more traffic. He did this experiment because he felt the majority of his followers weren’t seeing his tweets.
twitter retweets
What he found was that every time he tweeted the same piece of content again, it got roughly 75% of the retweets of the previous tweet. So, by tweeting a blog post 3 times instead of once, he was able to get roughly 131% more retweets.
If you want even more Twitter traffic, time your tweets because the time you post has a huge impact on how many people see it.
twitter timing
As you can see from the image above, tweeting at 8 am or 5 pm is optimal, assuming you want the most visibility. Fridays are also popular days to tweet.

Tactic #8: Don’t ignore the numbers

Although content marketing may not provide direct conversions, it does provide indirect conversions. The majority of KISSmetrics’ leads come from content marketing. It ranges from month to month, but at least 50% come from our content marketing efforts.
The one thing you’ll notice from content marketing is that you get more traffic. Whether it is organic, direct, social or even email traffic, you’ll see more of it. But with your limited time, which channel should you focus on improving the most?
assisted conversions
Within your Google Analytics account, click on “conversions”, then “multi-channel funnels” and then on “assisted conversions.” Assuming you have conversion tracking set up, you’ll see an image like the one above that breaks down your revenue channels.
Based on that, you’ll know what to focus on. For example, I focus on increasing organic and referral traffic as those channels seem to be the most promising. I don’t focus on increasing direct traffic as it is less in my control.
By looking at your assisted conversions, you can focus on creating content that will appeal to channels that are causing conversions. For example, if I wanted to appeal to social media channels, I would blog more about Twitter and Facebook marketing. But because I want to increase my overall organic traffic, I focus on creating timeless content, such as How-To articles, that will do well in search in the long run.

Tactic #9: Use a content calendar

One of the biggest mistakes I made with my content marketing is not being consistent. When I was lazy and missed posting a few blog posts, my traffic tanked 21%.
So, how do you stay consistent? Using the editorial calendar plug-inwill help.
calendar
By using the editorial calendar, you can quickly identify when posts will go live and if there are any gaps or overlaps. Although this tool is designed specifically for blog posts, it can also be used as a content calendar for your business.
Once your content marketing efforts kick in, you can always upgrade toKapost, assuming you add more people to your marketing team. But for now, you can use the editorial calendar plug-in as it is free.

Tactic #10: Replicate what works

Are you struggling to find popular content ideas? Well, no need to struggle anymore. Come up with a list of 5 of your competitors, take their URLs and plug them into the Quick Sprout analyzer tool.
Once the report loads, click on the “social media analysis” tab.
social media results
What the tool will show you is all of the popular blog posts that your competitors have created from a social media aspect. You can then take the list and sort it by a specific social channel to see what post titles people like the most.
You can then generate your own version of that blog post with your own twist, so that way you aren’t copying your competition blatantly.
This will help you create more content that gets more social traffic versus writing blog posts that don’t get shared.

Conclusion

Content marketing isn’t all about the content. With a few small tweaks, such as adjusting the layout of your content or how and when you tweet it out, you can get more traffic.
